What are Subdomains?
Subdomains are email domains created and owned by your company and provided to Sailes for exclusive use with Sailebots, ensuring top email performance. The benefit of subdomains is enhanced deliverability while remaining separate from your company's primary domain (as most marketing programs should)!
Key Features:
Autonomous Domain Monitoring: Sailebots use AI and multiple ML models to maximize deliverability, ensuring emails reach inboxes for high engagement with your prospects.
Independent Email Infrastructure: Operate independently of existing email services and domains.
Customizable Domain: You can choose the domain name or have Sailes create options.
How are Subdomains Created?
This functionality can only be accessed by Captains or Commanders.
Step 1: Consult with your Sales/Success Manager to determine the number of subdomains you need.
Step 2: Contact your IT/Marketing or web team and request the required number of subdomains.
Necessary: For best results, the domain to which the records are attached must be your company's email domain, not a website domain.
Subdomain Example: design.vandelayindustries.com or scare.monstersinc.com
Steps to Set Up Subdomains in Starboard
Step 1: Once subdomains are finalized, add them in Starboard under the "Company Settings" page by clicking "Create Subdomain".
Step 3: Share the records request with a member of your IT/Marketing or web team who can add additional DNS Records (all 4 NS records if possible). These records are then attached to your email domain in their hosting platform (e.g., AWS, Namecheap).
An example email sent to your co-worker contains the records to be added.
Step 2: Once the records are added to your company's domain, click "Validate Now" to confirm subdomain verification.
Step 4: Please let your Sales or Success Manager know after completing all required steps and submitting the records request. They will finalize the subdomain configuration on Sailes' internal system.
Important: This step is crucial, as the subdomains will not become active if they are not configured correctly on Sailes' end.
Deleting a Subdomain
Subdomains can be deleted when they are no longer in use. This option is available if:
A subdomain has been created but not yet validated and enabled.
A subdomain has been ramped down or disabled.
