How to: Upload an Exclusion List

In this article, we will explain the importance of providing an exclusion list for your Sailebot® and how to upload a list of current customers and companies that you wish to exclude from being contacted by your Sailebot in Starboard.


Why Provide an Exclusion List?

Implementing an exclusion list can safeguard your current customer relationships. An exclusion list ensures that they remain untouched by any outreach efforts from your Sailebot. Whether applied to a single Sailebot or your entire fleet, the exclusion list acts as a protective measure.

How to Implement an Exclusion List: Companies

How can I upload?

To upload an exclusion list, Captains should first navigate to the Campaigns view in Starboard. In the top right corner, there will be an option labeled "More Actions." From there, select "Upload Exclusion List." A slide-out form will appear, where you can download a template and upload your list.

Note: If you do not have a website for the excluded companies, check to see if you have a contact email address, then remove everything before the @ to obtain the domain.

What information is needed to provide an Exclusion List?

The template requires three fields to ensure companies are excluded: Company Name, Domain, and the exclusion reason.

Column headers

  • name → The name of the company.

  • email_domain → This will be the company website without https://www. or http://www.

  • exclusion_reason → The different reasons include :current_customer, partner, competitor

Excluded Companies

After the exclusion list is uploaded, the Excluded Companies tab in Starboard will automatically update with the companies to be excluded from the Fleet. If you are adding a new exclusions list, you may see that your Sailebot influenced deals have increased due to previous contact from your Sailebot. NOTE: To only exclude specific contacts within a company from a Sailebot, please reach out to the support team. Please include the email addresses of the contacts you want to be excluded. This ensures that all other contacts within the company can still be reached.
